Specializing in Addiction Treatment: The majority of the counseling staff at the Center have extensive backgrounds in addiction treatment. Richard M. Bailey, Director

Richard M. Bailey, M.Ed., LCDS, ACRPS is President and founder of Bailey Associates Counseling and Training Center, a large outpatient private practice offering a wide range of counseling and psychotherapy services for adults and adolescents. He and his staff also provide a number of trainings, workshops and lectures related to Mental Health Treatment, Chemical Dependency, and Psychotherapy. He has worked closely with the Department of Corrections, providing assistance to the stress unit and evaluating and treating many correctional officers and their families. Mr. Bailey received his Masters degree in Counseling Psychology from Cambridge College, Cambridge, Massachusetts, in 1992. He is a Licensed Clinical Supervisor and Advanced Relapse Prevention Specialist, gaining certification from Terrence T. Gorski and The CENAPS Corporation, a prestigious, internationally recognized school of Relapse Prevention Training. He is past Director of Treatment at The Providence Center’s Long Term Care program, a program that specializes in treating chronic relapsers who suffer from both mental health and substance use disorders. Mr. Bailey has held various clinical and administrative positions in a number of treatment programs in the State of Rhode Island. He is an adjunct professor in the Psychology Department at Rhode Island College and has been training other substance abuse treatment professionals for more than fifteen years. Serving on the Rhode Island Board for the Certification of Chemical Dependency Professionals as a CPM evaluator, Mr. Bailey tests and evaluates Chemical Dependency Professionals for advanced level certification and licensure.
